The fab Hilary Duff, of course! See Hilary’s Gossip Girl premiere during the fourth episode of season three, October 5 on the CW. Is romance in the air for Olivia? Who do you think she’ll hook up with? I’ve got some suggestions. . . .

Is the Upper East Side big enough for Serena, Blair and the Duffster?! We?re about to find out because the onetime tween sensation is joining Gossip Girl for a multi-episode arc, sources confirm to me exclusively.
The actress-designer-pop chanteuse will play Olivia Burke, a movie star who enrolls at NYU in search of a traditional college experience. She ends up rooming with Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) so it?s safe to say she?ll be majoring in Drama!
Duff will debut in this season’s fourth episode, slated to air Oct. 5.
Gossip producers spotted an opening in Duff’s schedule after NBC passed on her comedy pilot Barely Legal.

The CW confirms to E! News that Hilary Duff is joining the cast of Gossip Girl for a multi-episode guest arc. Duff is set to play a girl named Olivia, Vanessa’s (Jessica Szohr) new roommate at NYU, but that connection to V is not all that Olivia brings to the show.

It looks like singer/actress Hilary Duff has taken a page out of Vanessa Hudgen’s book by announcing in a recent interview that she has no current plans to release any new music.
“I’m not in a rush to get back into the studio,” reveals Hilary“I love music, but I have so many other things going on that I don’t wanna do it until it feels right.”
“I get in a mood where I I’ll have an idea for song and I’ll write it down or say it into a little voice recorder, so I have the ideas and I think I’ll get the itch again soon but I’m not making a record right now.”
The former teen queen is currently working on a fashion line for DKNY jeans, as well as a host of independent films and an upcoming TV show with NBC. Duff does revealed though that just because she’s busy with other things it doesn’t mean she’s lost her passion for music.
“I don’t think I know how to even put [how important music is to me] into words.” gushed the speechless star “I listen to so much music throughout the day, it feeds your emotions. I wouldn’t be able to live without music. I love listening to new artists and hearing their lyrics, it’s such a creative process and it helps so many people.”
They talk about racing, music and Blessings in a Backpack. Hilary gets teary eyed at the end. So sweet.

Olivia Thirlby, who co-stars in What Goes Up, recently talked about working with Hilary Duff on the movie. Olivia says, “Working with Hilary was wonderful. I can’t speak highly enough of her. She’s a very cool, very kind and incredibly genuine person in every respect.”
Olivia shares that people would probably be surprised to know how “genuine” Hilary Duff is. That being famous has not made her aloof or detached, instead: “She’s a very nice and sweet, very well-intentioned person, but she doesn’t carry around with her the fact that she’s incredibly famous around the world.”

SPARTA, KY. - Actress, singer-songwriter and philanthropist Hilary Duff will encourage Kentucky Speedway fans to donate new and used backpacks to the “Blessings in a Backpack” charity when she serves as grand marshal of the June 13 NASCAR Nationwide Series “Meijer 300 Presented by Ritz.”
Ms. Duff is a national spokeswoman for the charity which supplements food donations for kindergarten through fifth grade students enrolled in Title 1 public schools that qualify for the Federal Free and Reduced Meal Program. Backpacks are filled with staple items children take home for weekends.
Race day backpack donations will directly benefit Kentucky students and will be accepted at the Meijer display near the speedway main gate.
Ms. Duff and 24 students from Gallatin Co. Schools will participate in several activities at the track including a pit-road bike relay race before she delivers the command for 43 drivers to fire their engines for the ninth NASCAR Nationwide Series event in Kentucky Speedway history.
“I’m proud to partner with Meijer to benefit children by creating awareness for ‘Blessings in a Backpack’ during one of Kentucky’s premier sports events. I’m thankful for companies such as Meijer that team with teachers and parents to help make ‘Blessings in a Backpack’ work. They are the true heroes. Students represent our future and we need to do all we can to encourage them to continue working hard in the classroom each and every day,” Duff said.
